JOB DESCRIPTION

The Associate will be a key professional responsible to senior members of the Investment Team for researching and analyzing information on existing and potential investments. Primary responsibilities of the Associate include the following: prepare reports so that Investment Management Team is able to make initial investment decisions; generate, adapt and execute asset level business plans. The successful candidate will possess a strong work ethic, high level of professionalism and an aptitude for real estate investment analysis.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

Investment Responsibilities:

  • Support Senior Associates and Directors in evaluating potential investment opportunities.
  • Model flexible and complex asset structures, business plans and joint venture waterfalls in Excel
  • Support Associates and Directors in due diligence and underwriting elements including financial modeling and market research
  • Research sales and lease comps for various projects
  • Support the process of creating and amending capital structures and related negotiations.
  • Support the closing process efforts of Directors
  • Support both the preparation and presentation of investment summaries to the Investment Committee
  • Assist Directors with creation and review of pro-formas, budget and other analyses relating to existing investments
  • Support Directors with active role in overseeing construction, leasing and ongoing asset operations
  • Develop familiarity with roles and responsibilities of staff at all levels of operating partner organizations
  • Provide support for client presentation materials

Asset Management Responsibilities:

  • Assist Directors with creation and review of pro-formas, budget and other analyses relating to existing investments
  • Support Directors with active role in overseeing construction, leasing and ongoing asset operations

Relationship Management:

  • Develop familiarity with roles and responsibilities of staff at all levels of operating partner organizations
  • Provide support for client presentation materials

QUALIFICATIONS

Competencies:

  • Solid experience and understanding with financial modeling and building/manipulating complex spreadsheets.
  • Ability to interpret and synthesize general concepts as well as raw data into a comprehensive financial analysis.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Argus experience required.
  • Working knowledge of Realogic, CoStar, RealPoint and other industry specific databases.
  • Proficiency with all software programs relevant to the functional group.
  • 1-3 years of working experience, preferably in real estate investments.

  • Bachelor degree in Finance, Economics, Real Estate Accounting or related field is required.

Computer and Software Requirements:
