Project Accountant

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a member of the Project Management team, the Project Accountant is responsible for maintaining and
tracking budgets, committed and uncommitted costs, projected cash flows, GC and consultant contract files,
and insurance certificates for construction and renovation projects within the firm’s East Coast portfolio. The
Project Accountant will support Project Management in meeting the reporting needs of Ownership.
Furthermore, the Project Accountant will assist in the collection of payment applications, providing required
documentation for new vendors, and communicating the completion status of active projects.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities
 Builds effective working relationships with the project team members
 Updates monthly Project Cost Reports (PCR) and Cash Flow Analyses
 Updates monthly Change Order Logs for each project and reconciles to the PCR
 Participates in Change Management Process under direction of Project Managers
 Collects and inputs the Project Management team’s monthly spending projection in the PCR
 Tracks and files contracts and insurance certificates to ensure compliance with mandated record
retention requirements
 Prepares weekly status reports to the Vice President of Construction
 Liaises with accounting by submitting and tracking invoices and payments
