Reports and is responsible to the Regional Manager, with indirect reporting to the National Healthcare Practice Leader, manages 3 to 5 Project Executives, or serves as Project Executive on specific projects as necessary, and is responsible for their Career Development and Healthcare Development Management practice in region assigned.
Purpose
Responsible for and has authority for directing, administering and coordinating all activities of Project Executives in the regional Healthcare Development Management practice. Assures a high quality product is delivered to the client, to ensure business goals, objectives and profit goals are achieved in accordance with established policies. In the performance of this function, the Regional Healthcare Team Leader is responsible to protect and promote the interests of our clients and the Firm in all matters, and to take action as required to satisfy responsibilities which include, but are not limited to the following as it relates to the Healthcare Development Management practice in the assigned region:
Duties and Responsibilities
PROJECT EXECUTION
1. Development Management Proposal & Contract:
- Reviews all key business terms with Project Executive, Regional Manager and National Healthcare Practice Leader prior to submission to the client. Responsible for contract execution in accordance with the firm’s risk guidelines including coordination with legal and risk management.
- Makes suggestions and gives guidance on key business terms.
- Is responsible for delivering the business goals, objectives and profit goals of the group (delivering the bottom line) as it relates to Healthcare Development Management projects.
- Review recommendation of all consultant/contractor short-lists prior to presenting to the client.
2. Brainstorming Session: Based on the level of client participation will work with the Project Executive in an advisory/oversight role.
3. Budget & Schedule:
- Review and approve prior to submission and presentation to the client the master project budget and schedule and anticipated cost report format.
4. Project Reporting:
- Assist project team in developing valuable monthly report format consistent with best practices and client requirements.
- Responsible for reading and reviewing every report and to provide comments to the Project Executive and Project Manager.
- Shall access monthly report status with internal project team.
- Responsible for reporting monthly on project status to Regional Manager and National Healthcare Practice Leader.
5. Resource Selection:
- Oversees the total process in conjunction with the Project Executive and Project Manager.
- Reviews “Short Lists”, Requests for Proposals, costs, contractual and business issues before presentation to client.
6. Pre-Project Tours/Education: Be present on an exception basis for tours of comparable projects and to
converse/talk informally with team.
7. Provide on-going oversight of project execution to ensure quality of work product and client satisfaction.
MARKETING & PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT/ ADMINISTRATOR
- Perform key aspects of the Marketing & Personal Development/Administrator duties on an ongoing basis.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Engineering or architectural academic training, and at least 15 years of building design or construction experience in the healthcare industry required. Extensive building construction experience complimenting a non-engineering or architectural training is also appropriate. A variety of building construction types is desirable.
- Understanding of healthcare industry, firm market potential and Boston area network of contacts.
- Extensive knowledge of construction cost, scheduling, estimating and engineering principles and techniques, as well as basic understanding of the Firm’s accounting procedures. Knowledge of various construction methods and materials, their characteristics, installation procedures and tolerances.
- Demonstrate management, leadership, interpersonal skills, and client focus.
- Ability to communicate (to all levels) well-both orally and in writing.
- A team player and team builder.
