Finance Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Overview:

The position of Finance Manager will serve as a liaison between our client’s Boston office and their parent company’s finance team located in Kansas City. Joining a lean and dynamic team, this individual will work alongside their parent company’s CFO and Corporate Controller.  This individual will work to support all finance and accounting activities for this growing Boston-based real estate group. The successful candidate will assure appropriate information flow between teams, improve processes, modify financial data, and build out further analysis. He/she will be involved in the daily operations of the portfolio as well. Additionally, this individual will be responsible for property and project-level accounting and finance needs to include a sizable Boston-based redevelopment pipeline.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the oversight of financial reporting and project accounting
  • Implementing new financial systems for the club
  • Responsible for project-level cash analysis
  • Oversee cash flow projections
  • Manage Construction and Pre-opening budgets
  • Be available to respond to internal & external inquiries
  • Provide modeling support for acquisitions and corporate projections
  • Assist with PPM requests
  • Ensure accounting transactions are recorded in accordance with GAAP
  • Prepare and review the calculation of development and cost-plus fee
  • Assist with the preparation and maintenance of supporting schedules and workbooks
  • Prepare monthly financial statements
  • Produce monthly flash reports for distribution
  • Assist with preparation of quarterly financial statements
  • Track project and investment returns and profitability
  • Provide assistance with ad hoc reports and financial analysis
  • Support the preparation of budget and reporting processes
  • Prepare financial packages for tax accountants and review partnership tax returns
  • Update owners on financials as well as crucial membership metrics
  • Assist CFO and Corporate Controller with tax and audit preparation
  • Be available to respond to internal tax and audit inquiries

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, and/or Business Management
  • Strong quantitative skills and problem-solving skills
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Masters in Accounting and/or CPA preferred
  • Effective communication skills (oral and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Self-starter, ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment
  • Exceptional customer service
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a broader team
  • Ability to interact with a variety of individuals
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
