The firm has established an outstanding track record of creating value by maximizing operating efficiencies of under‐performing and non‐performing retail, industrial, multi‐family and office assets as well as hotels, condominium projects, single family homes, restaurants, retail outlets, parking facilities, mixed‐use developments and convention centers. The firm's value‐add model is achieved through a fully integrated approach that drives deployment of the company's aggressive operations, asset management, financial management, product positioning, and sales & revenue management strategies.


The SVP of Independent Hotels & Resorts manages and oversees hotel operations.  Works closely sales and revenue management to ensure budgeted revenue goals are achieved.  Directly supervises hotel General Managers, providing guidance and direction in all areas including property maintenance, asset protection, guest service, sales, food and beverage, accounting/budgeting, and human resources. 

Guest Satisfaction – Ensure Company service standards and procedures are followed.  Regularly review guest scores and identify negative trends at the earliest stages to ensure appropriate strategies are implemented. 

Operations – Conduct thorough site visits with documented results.  Provide direction and support in all operational areas including rooms, food & beverage and engineering. 


Human Resources – will have oversight of HR needs at properties. Help hire and train general managers and ensure that all staff understand and adhere to rules, regulations, and standards


Sales/Revenue Management Articulate sales strategy to achieve revenue goals.  Work with sales and revenue teams on sales goal approval, sales deployment, market strategy, etc.  Help develop action steps to improve REVPAR.


Profitability Responsible for GOP, flex and flow through.  Ensure financials stay within budgeted guidelines and that that accounting procedures are followed.  Oversee implementations of new services to increase guest volume.


Financials / Reporting – Lead team in month end reporting. Participate in property financial reviews; identify and respond to critical need areas and trends.  Ensure forecasting accuracy and direct the budgeting process.   


Life Safety/Risk Management Ensure hotel compliance with all life safety requirements, regulations, policies, practices and activities.  Promote culture of workplace safety and accident prevention.


Asset Management Oversee capital planning and strategies, monitor property preventative maintenance and repairs to protect guests, associates and assets. Help ensure Company assets are accurately tracked and protected.


Leadership – Provide direction and leadership in all facets of the operation with a positive, coaching mentality. 


Communication Ensure regular, accurate and open communication with COO, management and across departments.  Maintain a consistent professional and positive attitude when communicating with guests and associates.  Conduct regular meetings with hotel management and associates.


QUALIFICATIONS The Company may consider equivalent combination of acceptable education and experience providing the knowledge, skills and abilities cited below.

  • College degree preferably in hotel management. 
  • At least ten years hotel General Manager experience and three years Regional experience with independent or boutique hotels, inns and resorts.
  • Successful track record in profitable hotel management
  • Possess advanced knowledge of accounting and budgeting along with the ability to compile

facts/figures and analyze information that involves data manipulation and interpretation

  • Ability to anticipate and identify issues and exercise initiative to investigate, interpret and weigh alternatives to and make sound business decisions.
  • Display consistent professional leadership while simultaneously handling competing and changing priorities and projects. 
  • Remain positive, resourceful and possess the ability to improvise while working in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure. 
  • The ability to effectively and efficiently schedule, manage and delegate work. 
  • Appropriately and effectively interview, hire, motivate, develop, monitor and address staff performance matters. 
  • Possess excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills with professionalism, diplomacy and confidentiality.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft office and property management systems.  Must satisfy and comply with the legal requirements for employment within the jurisdiction. 
  • Position requires at least 80% travel
  • Physical requirements include extended periods of standing and/or walking, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
