Our client, a private real estate investment firm, is seeking a highly motivated and qualified candidate to join its real estate team with a focus on acquisitions. The firm has a successful and long-standing track record, specializing in core-plus real estate investments strategically located in attractive markets across the United States. Since its inception in 1996, their global real estate investments have totaled US $25 billion across approximately 1,300 properties in the US, Europe, India and GCC. The firm’s real estate assets under management stands at $10.5 billion as of June 30, 2023.
Position Overview:
The real estate investment team is seeking an analyst/associate to provide acquisition support to senior team members for potential new equity and debt investments. Responsibilities will include underwriting/modeling, analysis, due diligence, financing and other items for potential new real estate investments. The analyst/associate will interact with local operating partners, brokers and third-party vendors while conducting due diligence. An important component of the job will be the preparation of internal investment committee reports and participation in investment presentations. The analyst/associate will be required to conduct financial, property, market and industry research and analysis related to new property or debt investments.
Required Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree required in finance, accounting, economics; emphasis in real estate preferred
• Candidates must have at 1-3 years of related real estate experience
• Experience using Excel & Argus, particularly in the context real estate investment valuation is preferred
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and ability to multi-task is essential
• Strong interpersonal/communication skills; ability to develop and ask questions
• Well-developed written and oral communication skills
Desired Background:
Ideally, the candidate will have 1-3 years of experience in the real estate industry in one of the following capacities: real estate investment sales/brokerage, real estate investment banking, commercial real estate lending/finance, direct real estate investment or real estate appraisals for commercial property.
