Assistant Property Manager (residential) - owner/ operator

Stoneham, MA

JOB DESCRIPTION

Our client is a privately held, vertically integrated real estate owner and operator. In business for more than 65 years, the firm’s portfolio has encompassed over six million square feet of single & multi-family residential, office space, research & development, medical facilities, self-storage facilities, retail, and warehouse facilities.

The firm is looking for a skilled and motivated Assistant Property Manager to join a team overseeing a residential property complex in Stoneham, MA consisting of 1-4 bedroom apartments and townhouses.

Responsibilities

This Assistant Property Manager will be responsible for the below tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Administrative support for Property Manager
  • Address tenant issues and concerns in a thoughtful and timely manner.
  • Process work orders and track status.
  • Process rent payments and rent collection.
  • Process accounts payable.
  • Waitlist management.
  • Maintain meticulous tenant files.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with state agencies such as Mass Housing. 

Qualifications

  • At least two years of full-time work experience in residential property management.
  • A working knowledge of affordable housing compliance programs such as project-based Section 8 is preferred but not required.
  • Strong organizational, analytic, verbal, and written skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in fast paced environment.
  • Be able to advocate, organize, problem-solve, and obtain results for the residents and the community.
  • Customer service skills are important in this role.
  • A positive attitude, a willingness to learn and work as a team member.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and knowledge of (or ability to quickly learn) housing software Boston Post/ MRI and QuickBooks.
