Responsibilities:
Investor Relations is responsible for directing the overall activities of corporate and client communications, marketing and new business development. The department helps set firm-wide strategic direction and focuses on expanding and maintaining client relationships.
This role will primarily focus on investor relations, rather than fundraising, but the ideal candidate will gain proficiency at both given time. This position provides an opportunity to work with existing High-Net Worth and institutional investors and understand real estate fund economics and management at a detailed level. This individual will work closely with the Vice President of Investor Relations, the Head of Equity Capital Markets, accounting, asset management and will also have regular interactions with the investment and development teams, the President, the CFO, and other Senior Management. Growth opportunities could include a career in institutional fund marketing, within fund administration or asset management.
Primary responsibilities will include:
• Assisting in the preparation and distribution of key investor communication, including:
-Quarterly investor letters
-Quarterly asset summaries
-Quarterly non-fund reporting, with the goal of leading this process over time
-Capital Call and Distribution Notices
-Year-End tax forms (Distribution only)
-Fund marketing materials, such as PPM’s (Private Placement Memorandums) and presentation materials
• Consistent management and improvement of the investor portal and investor CRM (Customer Relationship Management) data system (Juniper Square)
• Field incoming phone calls and monitor and promptly coordinate responses to emails sent to the Investor Relations inbox and work with multiple departments to answer ad hoc investor questions such as individual capital forecasts, valuation reports, investment specific requests, etc.
-This role will involve frequent interaction with investors, wealth advisory firms, and institutional consultants
• Complete quarterly data requests from existing institutional investors
Update and enhance information on the firm’s website and client portal
• Assisting in the coordination of, and creation of materials for, investor events including:
-Bi-Annual Advisory Board meetings
-Annual Fund Investor Meeting
• Support the Vice President, Investor Relations and Managing Director – Equity Capital Markets in fundraising efforts, including:
-Distributing and tracking PPM’s (Private Placement Memorandums) Intake and processing of subscription documents
-Scheduling investor meetings
-Preparing due diligence materials and responding to investor inquiries
-Monitor competitive landscape including fund offerings, performance and investor activity
-Respond to RFPs and due diligence questionnaires from prospective clients and consultants.
Qualifications:
• Desire to pursue a career in institutional marketing and/or real estate investment
• Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree required preferably in related field – economics, finance, real estate or accounting
• 3 – 7years’ professional experience, preferably in accounting/finance or in an investor/client relation role
• Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management , with experience in Juniper Square software preferred
• Exceptional and professional email and phone etiquette
• Strong skills in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• Well organized and extremely detail-oriented person that takes pride in putting together high-quality, accurate work
• Self-motivated and able to involve and motivate others as necessary to complete tasks
