Company Overview:

Our client is an Austin based real estate firm that focuses on multi-family development with mixed-use urban infill, single-family rentals (SFR), and garden-style products. With a strong track record in the industry, they have successfully financed $280MM in mixed-use and SFR projects in the central Texas area, creating 1,077 new units. As part of its ambitious growth plan, our client wants to take an aggressive and systematic approach to raising capital, targeting high net worth individuals, family offices, and RIAs. The firm is vertically integrated and combines Development, Construction, Acquisition and Land Entitlement into it’s four primary verticals. The firm’s founders have 50 years of combined experience in the real estate industry. The client has a traditional approach to its business, trust, and respect. They develop products built on innovation in design, planning, and execution excellence; emphasizing creative solutions, quality construction and materials, and partnerships with award-winning architects, interior designers, and construction companies.

Position Overview:

The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of the Texas market, a strong network of family office and private wealth contacts, and the ability to drive fundraising efforts to help achieve its objectives. This new position will be responsible for improving the company’s investor acquisition and management platform and will contribute to the development of the organization’s overall strategic capital strategy. The candidate will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing, and working with the capital markets team to increase the full range of capital raising activities. This role will include creating new relationships with investors for LP, Co-GP, OpCo fund and land takedown capital for Lonestar as well as oversight of the capital structure of every project. They will also help the capital markets team in determining the appropriate mix of debt, external equity, and internal financing on each project.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ability to market our client’s products to new private wealth investors such as HNWI, UHNWI, Family Offices, RIAs, and others.• Ability to market our client’s products to new private wealth investors such as HNWI, UHNWI, Family Offices, RIAs, and others.
  • Ability to interface with institutional capital groups and aid the sponsor’s capital markets team in raising$130MM of LP capital and $18MM of Co-GP capital across the next 12 months.
  • Develop and execute on strategic fundraising plans to source new private wealth investors.
  • Service and interact with existing investors.
  • Oversee the collection of and responses to information requests from investors including regular updates.
  • Schedule, attend and host meetings with prospective investors.
  • Lead and support new capital raise initiatives.
  • Populate and update CRM software with call/meeting updates.
  • Oversee the production of the Private Placement Memorandum (PPM).
  • Develop and produce marketing presentations, with input from other team members.
  • Complete investor due diligence questionnaires.
  • Be able to clearly articulate the firm’s strategy to prospective investors.
  • Be an accomplished Director to MD -level fundraiser on behalf of real estate funds or one-off property acquisitions.

Qualifications:

  • Ideally 10+ years of experience and success on raising equity capital on behalf of a real estate private equity manager.
  • Possess an extensive and active real estate investor rolodex and relationships comprised heavily of HNWI, UHNWI, Family Offices and RIAs.
  • Passionate about real estate investing and long-term commitment to the industry.
  • Brings best practices in all areas of client service and fundraising.
