Human Resources - People Experience Advisor

Position Overview:
The Human Resources Lead, located in Boston, will partner with people leaders to support people experience initiatives and deliver exceptional experiences. The Lead will be a trusted advisor to employees and people leaders providing HR guidance and support on HR related matters. This person will play a key role in implementing effective processes within the firm’s US market and be responsible for Employee Relation matters for their US based employee population, while also supporting the Canadian Advisory and Support team. This role will report to the Manager, Advisory & Support in Toronto.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Demonstrates exceptional people skills and ability to influence leaders in HR related matters, ensuring outcome is aligned to the People Strategy and supports the employees and leaders
• Provides timely guidance to HR matters related to policies and processes
• Coaches and enables front line leaders to address employee needs and work towards a resolution and using excellent judgement when providing guidance on all HR matters that vary in complexity
• Provides guidance to people leaders on performance and behavioral related matters including performance improvement plans, managing difficult conversations, including making disciplinary recommendations and employment decisions
• Maintains accurate case management process, records, detailed case notes and documents all HR related inquiries and addressing by leveraging the appropriate information and data
• Proactively looks for opportunities to guide employees in the effective use of self-service to submit inquiries, update personal data, and research HR policies and procedures
• Manages disability programs supporting employees and manager across occupational and non-occupational illness, monitors medical updates and vendor performance along with supporting the employee through return to work, offering guidance on accommodation and regular check ins with employees
• Proactively identify areas for process improvements to enhance the employee experience and ensure end-to-end processes make sense

Qualifications
• 5+ years of HR Business partner experience, including generalist HR knowledge on policies and processes
• Strong relationship management, effective listening, communication skills and interpersonal skills across all levels with commitment to providing exceptional customer service
• Sound judgment and problem-solving skills while mitigating risk to the organization
• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple initiatives and deadlines while meeting service level agreements
• Experience driving innovation through problem-solving and business process improvements
• Adaptable and ability to work in a new and changing environment and learn quickly
• Knowledge of employee data administration and end-to-end processes; experience with transaction processing and data management
• Knowledge of HR system, and ability to leverage basic technology functionality (e.g., case management, knowledge management). Working knowledge of Workday an asset
