Company Overview:
Our client is a vertically integrated real estate private equity firm with a 30+ year history of successful real estate investment across asset classes and market cycles. Their platform primarily invests in value-added industrial and multifamily, providing a margin of safety and maximizing risk-adjusted returns for their investors. The firm is headquartered in Boston, with regional offices in the metropolitan New York City and Washington D.C. areas. They are currently investing two primary value-add investment vehicles, Fund III ($360 million) and Fund IV ($650 million).

Position Overview:
Our client is seeking an Analyst/Associate to join its Investments Team in Boston, MA and to support underwriting, due diligence, financial analysis, and portfolio management. As part of the Investments Team, the candidate will work on all aspects of the investment process through a cradle-to-grave approach (acquisitions, asset management, and dispositions) across all regions (specifically the New York Metro) where the firm invests.

Key Responsibilities:
Acquisitions / Dispositions
•Perform extensive underwriting and detailed quantitative analyses for prospective investments using ARGUS and Microsoft Excel
•Construct complex joint venture promote structures to determine partnership and fund-level returns
•Tour markets/properties, research market conditions, analyze market data, and assist in due diligence
•Prepare investment committee memoranda to summarize key aspects of opportunities
•Manage investment acquisition and disposition closing processes
•Track and manage the internal deal pipeline report
Portfolio Management
•Assist in on-going analysis of portfolio by managing pro-formas, tracking significant events, and identifying opportunities to optimize returns at the asset level
•Conduct hold, sell, refinance and various other analyses
•Create fund and asset-level reports for internal management and external investors
•Support creation of asset business plans and monitor portfolio investment performance

•2-4 years of real estate experience in investment banking, private equity, or commercial lending/brokerage
•Superior quantitative and financial modeling skills, and proven analytical abilities in real estate, with a required high-level of proficiency in ARGUS and Microsoft Excel
•Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
•Demonstrated track record of high achievement in demanding professional settings
•Self-starter with the ability to learn quickly, work both independently and as a team member, and to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously in an organized and efficient manner
•Significant desire to develop a comprehensive understanding of real estate investing and operations
•Bachelor’s degree with an excellent academic record
