Job Description:
The Real Estate Financial Analyst will assist key decision-makers in underwriting new investment opportunities, examining options related to existing investments, and assisting in the syndication process of investments, and other operational tasks of the firm.
Underwriting New Investments
· Conduct detailed underwriting of potential real estate investment opportunities across various property types (multifamily, office, industrial, etc.)
· Build and maintain financial models and sensitivity analyses
· Perform research related to comparative transactions and studying the broader real estate market
· Assist in preparing investment memorandums for decision making purposes
Syndication of Investments
· Assist in the syndication process by preparing marketing materials for potential investors.
· Prepare monthly reports for investors to provide updates on construction, leasing and capital market activity
· Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) of syndication efforts, investor engagement, and fundraising progress.
Management of Investments
· Assist in responding to request for proposals for owned assets through financial modeling and sensitivity analyses
· Periodically update models for each owned asset based on asset and market performance
· Support quarterly and annual reporting processes by gathering and analyzing financial data for existing properties
Other Operational Tasks
· Support the firm’s operational activities, including updating investment tracking systems, maintaining investor databases, and preparing ad-hoc reports
· Coordinate with internal teams and external partners on the closing of transactions
· Assist management with optimizing the functionality of existing information technology systems
Qualifications:
Education and Experience
· 2-4 years of experience in real estate financial analysis, investment banking, private equity, or related fields
· Experience with underwriting real estate transactions and financial modeling is highly preferred
· Bachelor’s degree in finance, real estate, accounting, or related field; a master’s degree or CFA designation is a plus
Skills and Abilities
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with strong financial modeling skills; experience with real estate software (e.g., RCA, CoStar) is a plus
· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear and concise reports and presentations
· Ability and experience incorporating artificial intelligence tools into business processes
· Self-starter who can work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
· Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
· Ability to simultaneously handle multiple projects with various stakeholders
Working Conditions
· Full-time position with occasional travel requirements
· Flexible hours may be needed to accommodate transaction closings
