Position Overview:

The Senior Advisor, Accounting Analytics is responsible for developing, utilizing, and reviewing financial models to assist clients in making strategic real estate decisions. This position will work closely with company advisors, consultants, Financial Analysts, and clients to develop strategies that drive value and performance and enhances the overall client experience. The Senior Advisor will have a role in developing best practices and writing thought-leadership publications. In addition, this role will oversee and develop junior and senior-level Financial Analysts. To be successful in this role, this individual will continuously adapt to new technology and practices, will take initiative, be detail-oriented, and enjoy being part of an energetic and fast-paced team.

 

Responsibilities:

·         Develop and perform complex financial analyses (e.g., sublease, sale leasebacks, synthetic leasing, occupancy cost analysis, cash vs. GAAP, etc.) to support strategic initiatives and business opportunities

·         Create standardized and ad hoc financial analytical tools that will allow internal and external project teams to quickly gain actionable insight related to transaction and portfolio management.

·         Collaborate with clients and project teams to determine the financial goals and objectives

·         Establish consistent processes and governance for analyses with clients and project teams to ensure accuracy

·         Develop internal tools to support clients and projects teams with all facets of real estate process

·         Create executive-level deliverables outlining critical financial results (cash and GAAP) to support decision making

·         Participate in development and distribution of strategic white papers or case studies that can be utilized to further business development for brokerage teams

·         Provide financial leadership and coaching to junior and senior financial analysts to develop and improve their technical skills

 

Qualifications/Experience:

·         Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Accounting, Finance, Business, or another related field.

·         Minimum of five years professional experience in real estate or accounting industry

·         Fundamental understanding of real estate and terminology

·         Understanding of GAAP

·         Strong analytical, financial, and communication skills

Public Speaking/Presentation skills, client-facing experience in reporting and data findings
