Company Overview:
Our client is a dedicated property services management company that serves commercial properties in gateway cities throughout the United States. With its focus on personalized service, premium amenities, environmental sustainability, and proactive relationship management, our client employs the latest technologies and a concierge-like approach to property management to foster an elevated tenant experience across approximately 21.2 million square feet of real estate in the Greater Boston, New York, San Francisco Bay, South Florida, Southern California, and Washington, D.C. metropolitan areas.

Position Overview:
Our client is searching for a Vice President to join its Boston accounting team, to assist in the oversight of portfolio and development accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, tax, and revenue recognition. The Vice President will work closely with the firm’s Chief Accounting Officer to create and administer company-wide best practices in accounting, finance, and software-based information technology. This role will assist in all accounting matters, including ad hoc projects, maintenance of general ledgers, and preliminary preparation of financial statements for a portfolio of commercial office, industrial, multifamily, and development properties. This Vice President will perform and supervise account analysis and reconciliations, develop internal reporting, design, and maintain an advanced system of internal controls, and issue accurate financial statements on a timely basis, meeting all external reporting requirements and deadlines. This position will also partner with third-party reporting, development and construction accounting, asset management and acquisitions where applicable.

Responsibilities:
• Support cash management, reconciliation, reporting, and balance sheet management for corporate and property operations
• Oversee transactional accounting, cash sources and uses
• Review account reconciliations and other documents to ensure compliance with company policies and US GAAP
• Ensure proper timing and application of revenue recognition rules, for tenant and non-tenant receipts and contracts
• Oversee hiring and development of accounting staff, ensuring all employees are qualified and progressing toward career goals
• Oversee staff to support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analyses
• Supervise and enhance development accounting function, including draw reviews and equity reconciliations, and process build
• Assist with lender reporting and compliance (tracking and adherence to deadlines, liquidity/ guarantee requirements, projections)
• Assist CAO with portfolio and enterprise level lines of credit and ongoing credit requirements required for growth and capitalization

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or finance required with CPA certification preferred
• 12-15 years of relevant professional experience in the real estate industry, with proven public accounting experience
• 5+ years of experience in a corporate and/or development accounting environment
• Demonstrated history of career progress with management oversight of processes teams
• Exceptional analytical skills and fluency with Microsoft Excel, MRI, Procore and Yardi
• Detail-oriented, strong organizational skills, proven ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to respond quickly and professionally in all situations
• Ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization
• Strong desire for success in a fast-paced environment
