Our client is a vertically integrated real estate investment, development, construction and asset management firm that has spent over three decades creating some of the region’s most successful projects. Through over 300 projects, our client has worked collaboratively to create value for investors and to enhance the communities in which it builds.


Position Overview:

Reporting directly to a partner of the firm, the Vice President of Marketing will work with the firm’s leadership on communications, public relations and marketing for all sectors of the firm.
The VP manages a staff including a Creative Director, Marketing Director and Content Creator. In addition, the VP will collaborate with and provide shared oversight of the construction affiliate’s Marketing Director.

The successful candidate will be a highly skilled, entrepreneurial, and ambitious marketing and communications professional who is experienced in commercial real estate public relations, digital/social media/web-based platforms, brand-building and experiential activations/placemaking. The role involves direct preparation of corporate and property level communications, media buys/fulfillment, social media strategy and implementation, as well as coordination with third party providers on property level leasing materials. The VP will also be responsible for engaging and managing third-party consultants for branding, public relations, renderings/video, social media, site activations, etc.

Duties/Responsibilities:
• Marketing/Communications Leadership
o Develop and execute a marketing strategy that encompasses all areas of marketing and communications at the corporate level including internal (newsletter, intranet) and external communications (social media channels, advertising, websites, property brands, etc.)
o Retain and manage external branding, marketing, social media and event planning agencies as needed
o Maintain knowledge of firm’s pipeline, teams, and schedules; proactively suggest marketing support, follow through on implementation
o Manage and participate in industry association (e.g., NAIOP MA, ULI, CREW, CBA) activities. Participate at a leadership level in at least one or more of these organizations.
o Maintain knowledge of local real estate market trends, projects, and competitors
o Support construction affiliate marketing strategy and brainstorm ways to advance the firm
o Support sponsorships and promote philanthropic efforts
o Manage, support and mentor department staff, direct traffic requests, review work for QA/QC.

• Marketing/Leasing/Development Support
o Work with internal and external leasing teams and firm’s asset management team to develop and coordinate leasing, marketing and communications efforts at the property level, including property websites, community engagement, events and social channels
o Manage proposal production and boilerplate materials
o Organize and direct photoshoots and renderings, videos and other mediums to promote existing properties or development projects
o Develop marketing budgets for existing and pipeline properties/projects

• Branding/Graphics/Placemaking
o Lead project branding including naming, logo, brand guidelines, unique placemaking opportunities, messaging strategy and deployment
o Collaborate with in house and external creative/branding professionals with a keen and critical eye for exceptional graphic design, communication tools and content aesthetics
o Manage brand/project name trademarking process and renewals

• Public Relations
o Main PR contact – establish relationships with local reporters, manage and leverage media relations; manage media contact list, inquiries and responses, write and distribute press releases, coordinate groundbreakings, ribbon cuttings and other milestone events; manage and monitor Meltwater account; crisis communications as needed.
o Seek opportunities for project and firm awards; establish award submission strategies and oversee content development and post-win PR

Qualifications/Experience:

•10+ years of relevant experience in real estate including the promotion of the built environment and brand building
• Operates efficiently in a work environment with varied, ever-shifting, tight deadlines
• Possesses strong organizational and team/project management skills; can multi-task and deliver on various goals
• Resourceful self-starter, able to take initiative and lead by example
• Detail orientated with excellent written and oral communication skills - editing, proof reading and QA/QC on all levels is a must
• Experience managing design and creative projects
• Creative thinker with leadership experience across all aspects of marketing and communications
• Big thinker, but also adept at execution
• Experience in managing agencies and freelancers
• Social media campaign strategy and implementation expertise
• Ability to gain trust and confidence with cross-functional teams and general ease of relationship-building
• Outstanding communicator, negotiator, and have strong business-building understanding and drive
