Company Overview:
Our client is a privately held firm engaged in the development, investment, leasing, management, and ownership of first-class commercial properties.
Position Overview:
The team is looking for a seasoned accounting professional to maintain and supervise the company’s accounting and reporting function. This includes 2M square feet of class A office and retail commercial real estate assets as well as the corporate accounting for the firm.
Responsibilities:
- Preparation of monthly financial statement packages for ownership, partners, and quarterly reporting to lenders.
- Accounting lease administration - actively administer and maintain commercial leases as they relate to the accounting systems.
- Prepare summary of Landlords Operating Expenses and complete annual operating expense reconciliations for all office and retail tenants.
- Responsible for annual budget and reforecasting process including preparation of the timeline of deliverables from the Leasing and Property Management Departments that ensures a timely delivery to Ownership.
- Actively preparing the rental and other income portion of the budget. Coordinate with Property Management Staff, Leasing Staff and Construction Supervision Staff to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
- Work with the Chief Financial Officer on various projects such as financial analysis, cash forecasting, partnership distribution analysis, preparation of trial balances for third-party tax preparers, and others.
- Coordinates with IT to maintain two accounting and property management software programs (MRI and Sage/Timberline) as well as Kardin budget software.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of seven years relevant experience, including commercial office accounting experience.
- BA/BS degree required; concentration in accounting strongly preferred.
- Organized with a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks with strong financial and organizational skills.
- Ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Fluency in MRI, Microsoft Excel, and Word
- Comfortable working within Sage/Timberline accounting software programs and Kardin budget software is a plus.
