Position Overview:
The Managing Director of RIA & Family Office Investor Relations will play a critical role in driving the firm’s capital-raising strategy and fostering strong, long-term relationships with RIAs and Family Office investors. This role is responsible for identifying, cultivating, and securing new investment opportunities while enhancing the firm’s presence and reputation within the advisor community. This Managing Director will serve as a trusted partner to advisors, providing insight and resources to support their clients’ investment goals, ultimately contributing to the growth and success of the firm’s real estate investment platform.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead and initiate daily prospecting and relationship-building efforts across RIA and Family Office channels.
- Present investment strategies and fund opportunities to clients and advisors, both one-on-one and in group settings, to win new relationships.
- Conduct face-to-face prospect and investor meetings whenever possible, and virtual meetings via Zoom when necessary.
- Lead the due diligence process for prospective RIA and Family Office clients.
- Organize and hold quarterly Advisor Alignment Meetings to strengthen relationships and strategic engagement.
- Utilize Hubspot CRM and other company tools to maximize efficiency and effectiveness in sales and client service efforts.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of DLP Sponsored Funds and industry/market trends.
- Deliver exceptional investor experiences that exceed expectations.
- Develop and execute targeted strategies to broaden access to the firm’s sponsored funds.
- Cultivate and maintain long-term partnerships with CIOs, principals, and key decision-makers at RIAs and Family Offices, including inviting them to firm events.
- Identify new distribution opportunities through strategic partnerships and platforms.
- Collaborate with internal teams (legal, compliance, accounting, marketing, fund operations) to manage reporting, due diligence, onboarding, and investor communications.
- Represent the firm at investor events and industry conferences.
- Provide strategic input on product development and fund structuring when applicable.
- Monitor market and competitive trends within the RIA and Family Office ecosystem to inform strategic planning.
- Ensure full compliance with internal governance frameworks and regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Real Estate, Economics, or related fields.
- 10+ years of experience in investor relations, capital raising, and client management within real estate or alternative investments.
- Proven track record of cultivating and managing relationships with RIAs and Family Office investors.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare and present marketing materials, investor decks, PPMs, and quarterly reports.
- Experience managing the full-investor lifecycle, including onboarding, compliance, reporting, and ongoing relationship management.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain complex investment strategies clearly and persuasively.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Proficiency with HubSpot, Appfolio, investor reporting platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite; advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills required.
- Willingness to travel as needed for investor meetings, conferences, and events.
