Position Description:

The client is currently seeking a full-time, experienced investor relations professional to join its Miami, FL, team. This is a client services role that will report directly to the Managing Director of Capital Markets. The primary functions will be supporting all aspects of investor services within the capital markets department. This role will provide an opportunity for client-facing engagement and will require providing ongoing day-to-day support and conducting various tasks concerning the firm’s institutional and private wealth investment partners. The ideal candidate must work well in a team-driven environment, be a self-starter, and detail and process-oriented.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with Legal and Technology teams to manage and enhance the onboarding and subscription process for domestic and offshore investors through the firm’s proprietary technology
  • Prepare quarterly investor reports, and capital call and distribution notices, including managing the internal review and approval process, and issuing quarterly reports, capital account statements and yearly tax reporting to investors
  • Review and process investor assignments, contact changes, and account changes
  • Manage anti-money laundering (“AML/KYC”) document collection and processing, and follow up with investors for missing information, if necessary
  • Assist with entity formation and dissolution and entity management
  • Manage the onboarding and subscription process for all new investors, including assisting with ‘pre-closing’ workflows (signature processes), and post-closing workflows (document management)
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date investor accounts including document management and processing
  • Assist with the organization and utilization of the investor portal
  • Utilize, maintain, and update the CRM system with client/prospect information and activity
  • Work closely with Fund Accounting and Tax teams to generate and distribute capital call and distribution notices, and manage all investor-facing capital activity events
  • Handle all aspects of client account data requests which involve facilitating requests with internal teams including capital markets, portfolio management, real estate operations, finance, and legal/compliance
  • Identify, develop, and document operational procedures for ongoing fund maintenance and investor services and recommend best practice and process improvements
  • Organize communications with institutional investors, HNW/family offices and consultants
  • Develop and manage investor communication content and cadence
  • Manage ongoing outreach with investors by answering questions, drafting responses and communicating investor sentiment with senior management
  • Have a thorough understanding of investor’s goals/objectives and make sure all investors are given high-quality, responsive information

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 3-5+ years of client service, operations or related function at an alternative asset management firm, real estate private equity firm, or administrator
  • AML/KYC, accounting or operations experience in the financial services industry is a plus
  • Pre-existing paralegal and/or L&C experience at either a law firm or investment management firm (hedge or PE) is a plus
  • Investor-oriented mindset
  • Must be a self-starter with attention to detail and excellent organization and customer service skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple clients
  • Comfortable with basic financial KPI terminologies (IRR, MOIC, DPI, TVPI) and can translate concepts into marketing materials that are compliant with the Investment Advisers Act
  • Ability to effectively maintain databases, keep accurate to-do lists and follow up with all investor requests
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must be a team player with the ability to problem solve and take initiative
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Word and Excel)
