Senior Real Estate Manager

Our client is a multi-generational family enterprise based in Norwood, MA that has been in business more than 60 years. Real estate is the core operating platform and the firm’s portfolio includes retail strip centers and net-leased properties, a small but growing multifamily portfolio, and the Brookmeadow Country Club. The firm also has an active development pipeline,

Position Overview:
The company is searching for an experienced real estate professional to serve as the enterprise’s first executive-level hire. A meaningful portion of the role involves absorbing responsibilities currently held by the Principal, so the position requires genuine operating authority and the expertise to exercise it independently.

Core responsibilities:

  • Oversee all property-level operations across the commercial portfolio — tenant relations, lease administration, rent collection, maintenance, and vendor management. This person will provide oversight of a third-party residential management firm.
  • Implement property management software and institutional-grade reporting; develop and manage annual operating budgets for each property.
  • Oversee capital improvement projects through scope, budget, contractor selection, construction, and closeout.
  • As the platform scales, hire and supervise direct reports.
  • Manage construction from capital projects to a comprehensive refresh/repositioning project at a suburban retail center.

Candidate Profile:

  • 10+ years in commercial real estate, with meaningful exposure across property operations, asset management, capital project management, and/ or development.
  • Background at a mid-sized operator or family-run real-estate enterprise is beneficial. the candidate should be fluent in institutional process without being dependent on large-platform infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with retail real estate and related capital projects is ideal.
  • Comfortable operating with autonomy in a lean environment. Able to execute directly while also building systems and, over time, a small team.
  • Strong judgment, discretion, and integrity. Must be comfortable working in a closely held family enterprise where reputation is a core asset and where the relationship with the Principal is direct and ongoing.

Salary:
Base Salary Range: $140,000 - $200,000 plus annual and milestone bonuses. Compensation will be based on experience and include a bonus and benefits.
