Position Overview:
The Vice President of Finance will serve as the senior financial leader of the Company and a key business partner to ownership in helping manage the platform through strong financial leadership, analysis, reporting, systems, and decision-making. The Vice President of Finance balances historical financial accuracy with forward-looking strategic insight.

The individual will own the Company’s core financial functions, including accounting, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, lender compliance, investor reporting, and cash flow management, while also providing financial analysis to support business decisions, acquisitions, financings, and capital structuring. This position bridges financial stewardship with strategic oversight, ensuring accounting integrity while driving forward-looking financial planning.

As a hands-on player-coach in a lean, high-accountability environment, this position combines executive leadership with direct execution. In addition to the core financial functions, responsibilities include leading acquisition and capital transaction support (underwriting, modeling, and integration) and designing KPI dashboards to boost portfolio operational performance. This position requires strong business judgment and an ownership mentality, with clear path toward broader operational leadership based on performance.

Primary Responsibilities:
Finance & Accounting

  • Take full ownership of the Company’s financial function, including oversight and validation of all accounting outputs
  • Direct, supervise, and actively participate in property-level accounting oversight through internal team members, including the property accountant and bookkeeper
  • Maintain responsibility for corporate-level accounting, including general ledger, consolidations, and financial statement integrity
  • Prepare, review, and oversee financial reporting at the fund and asset level
  • Personally lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis
  • Manage lender compliance, covenant reporting, and lender relationships
  • Coordinate tax matters with external advisors
  • Establish and maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures

Financial Analysis & Decision Support

  • Serve as a key financial and strategic partner to ownership in evaluating business performance, operational initiatives, acquisitions, and capital decisions
  • Analyze portfolio and company performance trends, identify risks and opportunities, and help drive informed decision-making
  • Develop and maintain financial models, forecasting tools, KPI frameworks, and operational dashboards
  • Design and implement reporting systems that improve accountability, visibility, and execution across the platform
  • Support acquisition underwriting review, due diligence, financing analysis, and investment decision-making
  • Assist ownership with capital structure analysis, liquidity planning, and broader financial strategy initiatives
  • Support debt and equity structuring, financing analysis, and coordination with lenders, legal counsel, and external advisors
  • Help improve operational efficiency, scalability, and reporting infrastructure across the Company

Investor, Capital Markets & Transaction Support

  • Coordinate and manage capital calls, including investor communications and tracking
  • Prepare, review, and oversee quarterly distribution calculations and execution
  • Lead preparation and delivery of quarterly investor reporting
  • Support acquisitions, dispositions, refinancings, and financings through closing and post-closing integration
  • Coordinate financial diligence and transaction support with lenders, legal counsel, accountants, and third-party consultants

Leadership & Growth

  • Serve as a trusted partner to ownership
  • Operate with a high level of ownership, accountability, responsiveness, and follow-through
  • Help build systems, processes, and infrastructure to support the Company’s continued growth
  • Contribute to a culture of disciplined execution, continuous improvement, and high accountability
  • Over time, expand into broader operational leadership responsibilities based on performance and capability

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate accounting degree; Masters preferred
  • CPA and/or MBA preferred, but not required
  • 7+ years of experience in real estate investment, private equity, or related fields
  • Public accounting experience and/or strong technical accounting background preferred
  • Demonstrated progression into a senior finance leadership role
  • Experience operating as the lead or de facto lead finance professional within a lean organization
  • Strong understanding of real estate accounting, underwriting, operational reporting, investment performance analysis and financial modeling
  • Experience with debt structures, lender requirements, and financing processes
  • Demonstrated ability to think critically, solve problems, and support strategic business decisions
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, including advanced proficiency in Excel
  • Experience with Yardi (or similar property management/accounting systems)
  • Experience with IMS (or similar investor reporting/portal systems) preferred
  • Ability to build systems, processes, reporting infrastructure, and operational dashboards
  • Hands-on, detail-oriented, execution-focused, and highly accountable
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound business judgment and operate effectively in an entrepreneurial environment
  • In office presence required

Salary:

  • Base Salary Range: $175,000 – 250,000
  • Eligible for Bonus

Compensation will be based on experience and include a bonus and benefits.
